M8A4 F. Determine the equation of a line given a graph, numerical information that defines the line or a context involving linear relationships.
Notice that the points lie on a line. Such a pattern is called a linear relationship because it represents a straight line relationship between the coordinates of the points.
M8D1 C.Use set notation to denote elements of a set
A set, informally, is a collection of things. The "things" in the set are called the "elements", and are listed inside curly braces. Example, {pillow, rumpled bedspread, a stuffed animal, one very fat cat who's taking a nap}
M8N1 J.Express and use numbers in scientific notations
- An example of scientific notation is 1.3 ×106 which is just a different way of expressing the standard notation of the number 1,300,000. Standard notation is the normal way of writing numbers.
M8G1 A.Investigate charateristics of parallel and perpendicular lines both algebraically and geometrically
Perpendicularl lines are at right angles (90 degrees) to each other. Parallel lines are always the same distance from each other and they never meet.
M8A1 B.Simplify and evaluate algebraic expressions
To evaluate an algebraic expression means to:
- replace the variable(s) in the expression with numeric values that are assigned to them, and
- simplify the resulting numeric expression by using the order of operations
- the end result is the numeric value of the expression when the variable(s) take on the assigned values.
- We put 2 in the expression wherever x appears, and we put -5 in the expression wherever y appears, and the result is:
- 3(22 + (4)2) - 3(-5)
M8A2 C.Graph the solution of an inequality on a number line
Inequalities are equations that says what X equals and what X cannot equal.
M8D1 A.Demonstrate relationships among sets through use of Venn Diagrams
This Venn Diagram is showing the factors of 12,and 8.The factors of 12 they have are 3,6,12.The factors of 8 they have are just 8.The similarities they have are 1,2,4.
